About me…

I started my professional career nearly 30 years ago at the advent of the Internet contracting with new ISPs for client development work. Since then, I’ve worked with Internet startups and large enterprise companies, designing and developing software and managing projects and people across diverse business verticals and markets.

Over my decades of experience, digital products and services typically fail because companies don’t build product-led and data-informed teams that prioritize creating continuous conversations with their users. This is partly driven by poor communications, siloing of information and expertise, and not providing product teams autonomy to both identify real problems and solve them.

I specialize in building robust product teams and organizations by hiring and nurturing the right talent, implementing continuous discovery processes, and empowering product teams to gain a deep understanding of their users' needs. I believe in providing teams with the autonomy to align their products with those needs and uncovering and exploring new opportunities.

Key Achievements

  • Developed an inaugural web-based trading and clearing system platform for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage's Capital Markets division in 2005. Migrated the system off legacy applications and spreadsheets, achieving improved operational efficiency.

  • Delivered top-level support in design and construction of a groundbreaking courier route planning system. This system, pioneering near real-time planning for efficient package routes, significantly enhanced logistics efficiency.

  • Guided various organizations through comprehensive digital transformations, advocating for the adoption of agile and lean practices, innovation, and discovery approaches. Resulted in notable improvements in operational success and delivery across multiple projects.

  • Contributed to design, development, and launch of “https://kilter.com”, an e-commerce and search platform catering to BMW/Audi purchasers. Implemented nationwide search capabilities to enhance the user experience.

  • Facilitated NWEA's launch of a testing platform tailored for creating customized academic assessments. Reduced the workload of teachers, making assessments more efficient, and provided content catered to individual learners.

  • Steered innovation within NWEA, facilitating creation of a cutting-edge, interactive SEL (social-emotional learning) platform for students and educators in Tacoma School Districts.

  • Guided a pipeline construction startup through an Innovation Discovery process, conducting thorough research, ideation, and validation for a disruptive technology offering in the midstream pipeline market. Encompassed pipeline planning, contract bidding, and execution.
